Appetizer: Bread & Butter

Presentation: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Flavor: 10/10

Comments: The bread was delicious. It arrived warm and tasted freshly made, with a wonderfully soft texture. The subtle saltiness of the bread paired beautifully with the silky butter, which had hints of sweetness that made the combination even more enjoyable. They also brought some lime wedges alongside the bread. Truly an excellent start to the meal.

Entée: Seafood Bucatini

Price: $46

Presentation: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Flavor: 8/10

Comments: The creamy seafood pasta was a flavorful dish, with the sauce being the true standout. Its rich flavor complemented the other components beautifully. The protein included shrimp and what appeared to be pieces of lobster. The seafood was well seasoned, though I have had stronger preparations elsewhere. The main downside was the tomatoes, which were served whole rather than pre-cut, making them a bit messy and prone to splashing when trying to cut them. Overall, it was an enjoyable dish with a memorable sauce.

Entée: Pan-Seared Diver Scallops
(Jupiter rice grits, home made andouille sausage, etouffee sauce, green tomato chutney)

Price: $52

Presentation: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Flavor: 3/10

Comments: The scallops were good on their own, although they were slightly underseasoned. The grits were also enjoyable, but the dish ultimately fell short because of the sauce and sausage. I did not feel they paired well with the rest of the meal and found the combination to taste somewhat thrown together. I should have paid closer attention to the Cajun component of the sauce, but the level of spice really took away from my enjoyment of the dish. I also wish the server had provided a heads-up about the sauce’s flavor profile. The sweet green tomatoes served on top of the scallops were another element that did not complement the dish well.

Entée: Berkshire Heritage Pork Filet
(Charred corn purée, lima bean succotash, chicharrón, dijon-apple jus)

Price: $42

Presentation: ⭐⭐⭐

Flavor: 10/10

Comments: The flavor of this dish was rated by my grandpa. He particularly enjoyed the corn purée and how well it paired with the succotash and jus.

Dessert: Chocolate Praline

Price: ~$12

Presentation: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Flavor: 8/10

Comments: This was a delicious dessert with a great combination of flavors. You cannot go wrong with chocolate and hazelnut, and the praline added a pleasant crunch while the meringue on top provided a light, airy texture. I only wish the chocolate had been slightly less sweet, as I found it a bit cloying.

The Experience

As a party of 15, we made a reservation earlier in the day. The restaurant required a credit card and explained that the entire party had to be present before we could be seated. We were also informed that the card would be charged $25 per person for a missed reservation, which I found somewhat excessive. Nonetheless, we arrived 10 minutes early. Unfortunately, we were not offered the standard seating we had requested. We had hoped to sit outside on the beautiful boat that is part of the restaurant, but we were told those tables were already reserved. This was frustrating because we had also made a reservation and were even willing to split our group among tables of four, but the restaurant would not allow it, even though most tables were not occupied upon our arrival. We ultimately sat at the high-top tables inside. The lighting was warm, and our server was extremely kind and attentive. Once we were seated, we had a pleasant time. The delicious bread and butter were also included at no additional charge, which was a nice touch. I only wish there had been more entrée options. Similar to other restaurants at this resort, a 20% gratuity charge was automatically added, along with tax. Overall, I would consider returning, but I would definitely hesitate because of the prices, the limited menu, and the initial seating issue.
