Drink: Dragon Fruit Matcha
(with oatmilk)

Price: $10.90

Presentation: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Flavor: 8/10

Comments: I am not a matcha person, but I’ve been trying to give it a fair chance. This beautiful combination with dragonfruit was a great step in that direction. Not only did it look beautiful, but it also didn’t taste like grass, which I really appreciated 😂. Someone who drinks matcha regularly might have enjoyed it even more, but I do think it’s also a matter of training my taste buds to this new flavor. I did finish the drink, though! I would say the sugar level was alright, not overly sweet, but still a little sweeter than I would have made it myself. Yet, I didn’t mind it too much in this case. I will say, once the drink was mixed, the beautiful red and green turned into brown, but that was alright because it tasted much better once the flavors got to dance together :). I see myself ordering this again.

Menu item: Fresh Chicken (bowl)
(Quinoa, roasted red peppers, arugula, black olives, baby tomatoes, gouda cheese, citrus mayo dressing).

Price: $21.97

Presentation: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Flavor: 7.5/10

Comments: The bowl was good, although I have to admit I had slightly higher expectations. My first impression was that the bread felt a little unnecessary. It wasn’t listed on the menu, and since the bowl already included quinoa, I didn’t really feel that it added much to the dish. I also found the placement over the chicken a bit awkward and would have preferred it served on the side. I tried the bread, but ultimately left it aside. That said, the arugula was fresh and paired really well with the black olives and peppers. The chicken was served warm, although slightly on the dry side, and the dressing complemented the bowl nicely. I also think feta instead of Gouda could be a great option here, the tanginess of the feta would pair beautifully with the arugula and olives and could bring the whole dish together.

The Experience

This place gets BUSY. I went on a Thursday around lunchtime, and the place was full of people and chatter. I went with the intention of studying but quickly discovered it was probably not the best spot for that 😅. That being said, it is a fantastic location for brunch and catching up with friends. The location overlooks the water, which gives it a really calming atmosphere despite how busy it can get. They also had so many beautiful desserts on display that I must return to try!
