The Experience

We arrived at this coffee shop around 10:30 a.m. with the intention of trying some new coffee and locking in for a study session. As soon as we walked up, we noticed plenty of shaded outdoor seating, as well as several tables inside. We opted for an indoor table near some outlets, which was perfect for studying. When I walked up to the counter, I was pleasantly surprised to discover the Cuban influence on the menu when I spotted items like “pan con bistec” and “ropa vieja empanada.” While ordering, the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. You can tell this is a family-run business, which made me appreciate the experience even more. The coffee shop itself is beautifully decorated and full of personality. There’s a bookshelf where you can grab something to read, beautiful artwork throughout—including paintings of menu items and even artwork in the bathroom—and lovely photos along the walls. Outside, there’s also a donation box for clothing items, which I thought was such a sweet and unique touch. While we were there, I genuinely felt at home… maybe a little too much! We had no idea the coffee shop closed at exactly 1:23 p.m.—an interestingly specific time that I heard has a story behind it, so I clearly need to return and ask about it. It wasn’t until around 2:05 p.m. that a staff member very kindly let us know they had actually been closed for quite some time. They had allowed us to continue studying until it was finally time for them to leave. That gesture will not be forgotten. If the owner or any of the staff working that day ever reads this: I am extremely sorry! I genuinely had no idea you had closed, and I promise it will not happen again—but THANK YOU for being so gracious and allowing us to stay. This is truly a one-of-a-kind coffee shop—the kind of place that makes you want to come back not only for the coffee and food, but for the people and atmosphere. Please go try it, support this family-run business, and become a regular. I know I’ll be back!
